Graduation Requirements

Central Catholic follows a semester credit system. According to this system, one semester hour of credit means the value assigned for one period of instruction per week for an entire semester. For example, a class, which meets for one period a day for five days a week, receives five credits per semester.

For Students in the class of 2012:

To complete the requirements for graduation, a student must have successfully passed a minimum of 250 credits including 205 required credits and 45 elective credits. They must complete 160 hours of service.

For Students in the class of 2013 and beyond:

To complete the requirements for graduation, a student must have successfully passed a minimum of 250 credits including 225 required credits and 25 elective credits. They must complete 160 hours of service.

Dual-Credit Enrollment

High school teachers with a master’s degree in the field teach dual-credit courses. These courses are offered for college credit through Northeast Community College. The application of the credits earned in these classes is dependent upon the college the student attends. Additional cost, beyond those covered by the Central Catholic book bill, will be the responsibility of the student.
